DiscVision presents Hybrid DVB-C receiver and mobile phone client for remote access to PVR

The PVR features of the STB can be remotely controlled using the connectTV technology of DiscVision. MAX Technologies GmbH will provide the system to the retail market.

eviado STB systems are hybrid systems that allow for a seamless integration of information delivered via DVB or IP. The integrated HbbTV stack of allows for a large number of new services provided by broadcasters. In addition to this, a web portal is integrated that provides a large number of interactive services. The web portal is provided by NetRange MMH.
Like the satellite receiver system, the cable receiver integrates the watchmi service from Axel Springer AG which is based on technology of APRICO, a Philips company. DiscVision is the first company that has integrated this award winning technology in digital receiver systems. The eviado systems are provided to the market by MAX Technologies GmbH.
The system presented on Anga can be configured using a new mobile phone application which is based on web technologies and can therefore be used on all smartphones which allows to schedule recordings and control the overall PVR using the DiscVision connectTV technology. This technology not only allows to provide services for the private end user but also allows to perform remote maintenance of the STB system done by the system vendor.
The overall solution that is presented on Anga Cable 2010 is done in close cooperation with other technology partners such as MAX technology GmbH, GkWare, MMH Netrange GmbH, Axel Springer Digital TV Guide GmbH, APRICO and Opera. DiscVision as a software and hardware design house has been responsible for the integration and provision of the overall software stack of this system.
